Webkinz Rumors

We've been getting a few questions about Webkinz lately, so it's time to quash a few rumors:

1. Seasonal Webkinz- The following new Webkinz are seasonal, and will only be available for a limited time. Many of them have not been released yet, and will not be released for a while. Previous seasonal Webkinz include the Love Puppy and Sherbert Bunny. Although Ganz has not retired these Webkinz, both are being replaced with new seasonal characters for the upcoming holidays:
Halloween- Black cat. Expected mid-September
Christmas- Reindeer. Expected mid-October
Valentine's (Previously Love Puppy)- Love Frog. Expected mid-January
Easter (Previously Sherbert Bunny)- White Duck. Expected mid- Feburary

We will post notices just as soon as we get these in, so rest assured you will know as soon as they are available here.

2. Webkinz assessories- The latest assessories to be released are the Charms, which grant access to the Magical Charm Forest. These should arrive sometime this week. The Mousepads, Lip Balms, and Body Sprays have (according to Ganz) been pushed back once again, this time to September. This means the Bookmarks and Clothes (originally expected at the beginning of Novemeber) will be pushed back once again.

3. Retired Webkinz- It is true that Ganz has recently retired several of it's Webinz, including the Unicorn, Horse, Basset Hound, and Saint Bernard. You can check the catalog at www.webkinz.com for a fairly complete list of all retired animals (sometimes it take them several weeks to update it).

However, rumors are circulating the the Lil Kinz Basset Hound and Saint Bernard will also be retired with in the next month. This is not true! These Lil Kinz will not even released until mid-October, and it is unlikely that Ganz will retire them right away.
